Privacy Policy

Buyout Block is operated by Joshua Levine. Buyout Block does not store identifying member information in its application database. It uses pseudonymous accounts and does not collect names, emails, phone numbers, IP addresses, recovery contacts, device identifiers, or behavioral analytics.
Accounts and internal identifiers
Account sign-in is provided by Clerk using a username and password. Buyout Block does not display or use Clerk profile fields. When activity needs an internal member reference, Buyout Block derives an opaque HMAC-SHA-256 identifier from the Clerk subject and a server-only secret. It does not store raw Clerk IDs or return opaque member IDs in its APIs. Buyout Block offers no account recovery or account merging.
Community data
Community features may store a pseudonymous handle, posts, replies, reactions, group membership, saved places, reports, moderation actions, and cited ownership submissions. Public community content is visible to other visitors. Account and session information stays with Clerk and is not public.
If you relinquish an account, Buyout Block immediately anonymizes or disconnects its local member reference. It may retain deleted-post placeholders and the minimal moderation records needed to preserve discussion context, enforce safety rules, and document decisions.
No behavioral tracking
Buyout Block does not use analytics, advertising pixels, session replay, custom telemetry, cross-site tracking, profiling, or sell personal data. Public posts can still reveal identity if a member voluntarily includes identifying details; do not include them.
Service providers and map consent
Clerk processes authentication data under its Privacy Policy. Hosting providers process limited operational data under their own policies. Google Maps and Places are optional: they load only after your explicit browser-local consent. If enabled, Google may process data under its Privacy Policy. You can withdraw map consent at any time in the footer; Buyout Block then stops new Maps and Places requests and removes its local preference.
Buyout Block cannot delete data or cookies already controlled by Google. Use browser and Google controls to manage those records.
